Book in Hand does not accept payment by cheque with order. This is both for administrative reasons and because postal charges are sometimes difficult to estimate, especially on backorders. When nominating to pay in advance by card, please allow for a little extra in your budget for delivery. Most packages are sent by Express Post which allows for next business day or two day delivery to most parts of Australia from the time of posting.
Typically following charges apply. Actual charges may vary, especially on very small items, and will show on your invoice.
Books in one parcel up to 500g when packed $7.70
Books in one parcel up to 3 kg. when packed $11.00
Books in one parcel up to 5 kg. when packed $16.50
Bulk orders will be sent registered parcel post and charged at cost.
Please note our delivery method has been chosen to reduce labour costs and there is no handling surcharge. If a delivery does not arrive when expected, please contact us.
DOES BOOK IN HAND ACCEPT RETURNS?
MISBOUND OR OTHERWISE FAULTY STOCK CAN BE EXCHANGED FOR ANOTHER COPY. If an item is faulty please contact us immediately.
Because of our packing method, damage in transit is extremely rare. Please contact us if this occurs. If the error is ours, of course we will make it good.
If you are not sure what book you want, please do speak to us about what you require rather than rely on an on-line description. We would prefer to arrange an “on approval” delivery rather than your purchasing material which does not meet your needs.
If you have ordered and paid for a book which turns out not to be what you expected, we are able to exchange it for another, all postage costs on both shipments being the responsibility of the purchaser. This service is only available in the first few days after you have received the book.
Refunds (not including postage) may be possible under exceptional circumstances. If a refund does occur and payment has been by credit card, the customer will be charged for postage and the amount of the fees for the original bank transaction and for the reversal of that transaction. Book in Hand does not currently pass on other bank charges to credit card customers.
